๐Ÿ“œ Course Description

Module Aims

Module 3 aims to: โ€œProvide you with skills to operate in complex environments, using influence and political awareness to achieve results for yourself and your teams.โ€

Over the course of the two days, as well as looking at some theories there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and practice.

๐Ÿ— Pre-Work

Preparatory work:

 1. Session 1 - Introduction

Everyone will be asked to introduce themselves, their current role and then what skills and experience you bring to the module - especially around negotiation, teams, conflict resolution.

 1. Session 2 - Partnerships

Partnerships may be statutory, voluntary or simply a means of getting something done. Think of a partnership you operate in; during this session, we will examine ways of assessing partnership effectiveness.

 1. Session 7 - Conflict

Print out and complete the questionnaire before the module.

๐Ÿ“š Readings

๐Ÿ“Œ There is a vast amount of material available on the topic of leadership. This list of suggested titles contains some material that we think that you will find interesting to read, view or listen to. These items do not form a mandatory part of the programme and it is your choice how much or how little use you make of them.

It is not intended to be a definitive list but is a starting point from which you can choose to follow up topics that interest you โ€“ there are many very good publications etc. which have not been included. This does not mean that they do not have value but rather that we have had to make choices in order that the list is a manageable size. Some of the resources listed here will be academic in nature (rigorous, based on sound research, peer reviewed) while others may not have been peer reviewed, may be less well researched and/ or anecdotal. We include the latter for various reasons including that they make interesting points (perhaps based on the authorโ€™s personal experience), give a useful overview of a topic and/ or are useful prompts for reflection. All have the potential to add value on your leadership journey, but which ones actually do may be different for each of you.
